Lombok, from a very good starting point
We sit on the west coast, on a quiet stretch of beach between Senggigi and Pemenang. It is an easy place to do nothing at all. It also happens to be within reach of most of the things people come to Lombok for.
The Gili Islands are a short drive and a shorter boat ride away. The waterfalls of the north are a morning’s journey through the Pusuk pass. The Sasak villages of the interior, where songket is still woven by hand and pottery is still fired in open pits, are inland from Mataram. And the reef begins a few metres from our own sand.

On and under the water
The house reef starts a short swim from our beach. Everything further out leaves from here or from Bangsal, twenty minutes up the coast.
Sunset On the Boat
Out onto the strait as the light goes, with Bali’s volcano on the horizon and the resort behind you. A drink on board. Private charters available for couples and for groups.
Fishing with Local Boats
Out with a local fisherman on a traditional outrigger, leaving before dawn. If you catch something, the kitchen will cook it for you.
Snorkelling
By boat to the reefs around the Gilis, where turtles are close to a guarantee at the right sites. Equipment, guide and boat included. Suitable for beginners and for children who can swim.
Water activities depend on sea and weather conditions and may be rescheduled for safety. Life jackets are provided on all boat trips.
